Friend, cohort and confidant Derek M. Koch from over at the Mail Order Zombie and from some other spiffy little podcast I heard about called 1951 Down Place has released his new Kindle e-short “Granny and the Hole”! Derek’s been working on this for a bit, so it’s exciting to see it on the shelves! I’ve had the pleasure of reading it already, so I can say…you’re gonna like it.

“Granny and the Hole” is available exclusively on the Kindle at the moment and will cost you a mere $1.29. That’s a bargain!

DEREK M. KOCH’S SHORT ZOMBIE STORY “GRANNY AND THE HOLE” RELEASED FOR KINDLE

Derek M. Koch, producer of the long-running zombie movie podcast Mail Order Zombie, released his zombie short story “Granny and the Hole” on June 3, 2012. The story, a tale of a man who refuses to let death stand in the way of a relationship between his mother-in-law and his daughter, is available for Amazon Kindle as part of the Kindle Select program, or for purchase for $1.29.

In addition to producing Mail Order Zombie, Koch has directed an award-winning zombie short film, appeared as a character in other authors’ zombie stories, and has seen his own zombie stories previously released in other publishers’ anthologies. “Granny and the Hole” is the first story released by Koch’s Black Sombrero Publishing.

“Granny and the Hole” can be found on Amazon.com at http://tinyurl.com/grannyzombie. “Granny and the Hole” will be released for other e-reader formats later this year.

This coming weekend, Derek, Scott and myself will be sitting down to discuss the excellent (and Ingrid Pitt-Tastic) “Vampire Lovers” over at 1951 Down Place. This was one of my first and favorite Hammer flicks, so I’m pretty excited!

P.S. I won’t lie…Ingrid Pitt and Madeline Smith play a significant part in why I love this movie!

Over at Bloody Good Horror, things are cooking as we get close to episode #200! (We’re like…3 weeks away!) Our latest episode, #197 – Chronicle just hit the tubes this morning, so be sure to check that out! Tonight we’ll be sitting down to dig into Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, so be sure to watch for that next week!

Since we’re recording, you can always feel free to ask questions for the show by using the #askBGH hastag on Twitter!

The Dad and his Weird Friends Podcast is going great! Right now, you can check out Episode #7 where I sit down with Mike Chiseck from Night of the Living Podcast and discuss The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin. It’s a good ep and should be on the free feed for another week!

This week, I’ll be recording the next episode and it’s an exciting one. For the first time, I’ll have be doing an author interview for the show instead of a book discussion! I’ll be sitting down with Jesse Petersen, the author of the great “Living With the Dead” series! It’s my first inteviews, so I’m a little nervous! I think it’s going to turn out pretty great though!

For those of you who don’t know, the contact for Dad and his Weird Friends is Casey@BloodyGoodHorror.com, so if you have questions or comments, shoot them over there!

A little birdie tells me that starting this week, you might start hearing me pop up on the Mail Order Zombie Podcast this week. The rumor has it that I may start doing some Zombie book reviews for their show and it might turn into a regular thing. If I told you that my first review was for David Moody’s “Autumn”, I might have to turn you into one of the undead horde!

(The new episode comes out this Thursday, check it out and let me know what you think of the new segment!)

Sometime here in the near future, I’ll be hanging out with Louis Fowler over on Damaged Viewing, which is always a blast. I love action flicks, comedies, thrillers and all that good stuff, so it’s always fun to talk stuff non-horror with Louis! (Louis good for keeping me on my toes too!) As I’m sure you can imagine, I’ll be sure to let you know what movies we’ll be talking about as soon as we iron out the details.

Beyond that, who knows where I’ll show up! Need a guest for your podcast, hit me up! I’m always down for podcasting of some sort! You can reach me at casey@bloodygoodhorror.com or through Twitter (@CaseyBGH)!

Kudo’s to Con-Buddy Ken who dubbed me with the ‘CPC’ on my birthday, or “The Criswell Podcast Corporation”! Corporation sounds a little stuffy though, so this week, we’ll experiment with ‘Compound’ :D

Until next time…..Buh Bye.

Hi folks! How are ya? Me? I’ve been lazy. Lazy on blogging at any rate. I’ve been pretty damn busy as far as podcasting goes.

First up, there’s a new episode of 1951 Down Place out this week! This is our 3rd episode and let me tell ya…the feedback on this show as been overwhelming. Derek, Scott and I are all thrilled that folks are sharing our love of Hammer flicks.

In this episode, we’re going into new territory for all of us as we talk about “The Hound of the Baskervilles”! Being a Sherlock fan and an even bigger Peter Cushing fan, you can imagine that this was a pretty fun episode all around.

Next up, guest spot!

Also this week, I joined my good friend and favorite Republican Louis Fowler for an episode of Damaged Viewing! I love some cheesy action flicks and it doesn’t get much better than Samuel L. Jackson cheesing it up in a direct to video flick. Louis and I had a blast, so hoping that you all enjoy it too!

If you *did* enjoy my spot on Damaged Viewing, a little birdie tells me I may be showing up on there more often. I’ll let you know when it happens!

If you haven’t heard, (and if you follow me on Twitter, there’s no way you could miss it cause I talk about it incessantly) I’ve started a new Book Podcast! Hosted by Bloody Good Horror, the third episode just came out today! The show’s growing great and I’m loving it quite a bit. This week, it’s myself and Amy from Night of the Living Podcast talking about “Robopocalypse”.

Like sci-fi and fantasy books? Check the show out. I’m rather proud of it.

There’s a new episode of the Bloody Good Horror Podcast coming out this week too, it just hasn’t hit the airwaves quite yet! Watch for it this weekend when we fill your ear-holes with some in-depth discussion on Darren Bousman’s “11-11-11″. There’s an episode on “Chillerama” going down sometime soon too, so watch for next week!

So there’s some podcasting news for you for the week. There’s not a lot of writing news but as you can see, I’m pretty busy! What can I say, maybe I’ve found a different calling! Regardless, I’d love to hear what you have to say about the shows, so be sure to drop me a line and let me know what you think!

And heck, while I’ve got your attention, I’ll remind you to come join us in the Goodreads Discussion Group for Dad and his Weird Friends! If you want some fellow nerds to talk to about books? This is the place to do it!

I wrote about this back in September but as you can see above, it’s now become a reality! That’s right, this past weekend I was handed an editors proof of Dark: A Horror Anthology to gawk over and maybe drool on a bit. (Just a bit, promise Bryan.)

While I’ve had a few stories published before such as “A Fine Line” at the now defunct Sonar 4 Ezine and “Jackboots for Jesus” in The Jack, this is the first time I’ve had one bound up all nice and purdy for people to actually…you know…go out and buy! While you can’t go out and buy it quite yet, you’ll have your chance here very soon! And you really should. There’s some really great friends and authors included in this anthology such as Steve Wands, Derek Koch, Bryan Wolford and a whole lot more!

At any rate, we’re down to a matter of a few weeks before “Dark: A Horror Anthology” is officially available for purchase. If you’re vaguely interested in laying your eyes on my story “Deep Lies the Murky Floor” or would just like to inflate my fragile ego just a bit to keep me from collapsing into a sobbing mess, be sure to stay tuned for once the book is officially for sale!

Cause you can be damn sure I’m going to brag about it.
